Dear Parent/Carer,

Bristol Focus Week

This special focus week will take place in the last week of term 4 (March 31st to
4th April). During this week the children will explore their home city whilst focusing
on historical and geographical enquiry skills. All children will enjoy at least 1
educational visit during this week.

Cards, Toys etc

Unfortunately we cannot allow children to bring into school cards, other cards and
toys from home.

Celebration of Achievements

Brandon Watts, Thomas Hallard, Callum Slade, Shannon Hallard, Josh Edwards
Favour Ray-Nwosu, Andre Chipperfield, Tanasia Graham, Oliver Halliday,
Oliver Wiercioch-Giles and Shaun Snaden.

After School Coaching

Places are still available for Gymnastics (Year 3/4 – Fridays) and Multi-Sports (Y5/6 – Thursdays. The multi sport club will focus on a variety of sporting activities throughout the year. Please see the school office if your child is interested.

Book Fair

The PTFA will be having their spring book fair from Monday 10th March. Please
support them, as the money raised provides extra books for each class.

World Book Day

On Thursday 6th March is ‘World Book Day’. Each child will bring home a £1.00
Book Token.

Choir

There will be no choir next Wednesday, 5th March, or Wednesday 12th March.

Parents Evening

If you have not made an appointment to see your child’s class teacher for
parents evening, could you please make one. The next parents evening is on Tuesday
(4th March)

PTFA

A meeting will be held next Thursday evening (6th March) – 7pm school.

Study Guides

During parents evening we have been asked about study guides to support children’s
learning. Previously we have used CPG guides with our children.
These can be purchased online by going to - www.cgpbooks.co.uk

St. Mark’s Team

Well done to St. Mark’s team for winning the team points competition last term.
They will have a non-uniform day next Friday (7th March).

In future (to avoid confusion) non-uniform days will only happen once they have been announced in this newsletter.

Netball

After school netball will begin on Tuesday 11th March. There are 18 places available
which will be offered to children in year 6. The sessions will end at 4.45pm
and there is no charge for this activity. The activity is being led by Mrs. Calloway
with Mrs. Bevan assisting and offering first aid support.

Website and Blog

If you visit the website you and blog you can now find links to a new weekly
newsletter blog, links to our new ‘Big Number Crunch’ website (where you can find materials to support your child in their calculation skills) and pictures and news
from the last week. Please make a comment if you have time.
Club Links Board

Our new ‘Club Links’ Board is now on display in the playground. It is displaying
Some of the clubs that children from St Joseph’s go to outside of school.
The idea is to allow children who might be interested in joining a similar club will know where one is in their local area and maybe know someone who is already there.
The hope is that this will encourage more of our children to be involved with
Clubs and groups outside of school.

A big thank you to all those parents who returned the information about this in
The autumn. If you have any updates for this board e.g. your child has joined a
new club, then please write these details with as much information regarding
times, address on a piece of paper and put it in the parents’ suggestion box at
the front of the school.
