Dear Parents/Carers,

Supervision

Can I remind all parents that we cannot offer direct supervision of children until 8.55am or after school (unless children are with the Extended School Club) when children are in the playground (or hall if wet). This means that whilst we always aim to have a member of staff available, we cannot watch every child, and cannot offer direct supervision of your children, until they are collected by their class teachers.

We are encouraging all parents to receive newsletters via email and make  payments online through the ‘School Gateway’ which includes Extended School Club, Dinner Money, School Trips, School Camp and Music Tuition.  If we do not have your email address already, could you please return the slip at the bottom of this newsletter.

Individual Photographs

Individual photos will take place on Thursday 1

Concerns About Rough Play

Recently the school has been dealing with several injuries resulting from rough play. The children have all been told why rough play is dangerous and that it must not happen.
Coats and Jumpers Going Missing
There seem to be an increasing number of children who are loosing jumpers in school which cannot be found. We expect these have been accidently been taken home so can everybody check labels and please return any lost property to school.
Finding property if obviously much easier when items are labelled.

Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning  a message from Year 6

On Friday 25th September Year 6 will be having a coffee morning for the charity of Macmillan Cancer Support. It is a charity which supports children and other people who suffer from cancer. There will also be a non-uniform day. If you want to wear non-uniform you are asked to bring £1. All this money will go to the Macmillan charity.

There will also be lots of fun games and activities such as Penalty Shootout, Speed Stacking, Pick n Mix, Pick a stick and Blow the ball and other fun things during the day. The coffee and cakes will be held in the school hall from 10:30 until 11:30.

Road Safety – Zig Zag lines

These lines (including the bus bay) are now enforceable. This means that Bristol City Council will be using mobile cameras to photograph vehicles that are parked illegally and will be issuing fines. We have been asked to contact the enforcement department with details of vehicles parked (or stopping) illegally. It is also very dangerous to drop a child off in the middle of the road.

Security

For security reasons, when children arrive late, we are unable to allow parents to escort their children to their classrooms. Children are more than capable of walking to classrooms by themselves.

Missing reading books

Can I please ask that all families check if you have any school reading books at home. We are missing lots of books from the library and classes would appreciate any that are returned to school.

Celebration Assembly

There will be a celebration assembly on Monday 21st September, where the following children will receive a headteachers award:-  Rishon (Y2), Adam (Y3), Marco (Y4), Lizzie (Y4), Jaimie (Y5) and William (Y1).

After School Clubs

Gardening Club will start next week.

All clubs will be ongoing until further notice and most clubs will be at no cost. The only cost will be if parents wish their child to also be cared for in the Extended School Club and for our new Italian Club (which is now full).

Places are limited and offered on a first come-first served basis.

Unfortunately we are unable offer clubs to children in Reception at the moment.

Please contact the school office to see if any places are available. All clubs will take place every week unless parents are otherwise notified in the newsletter or by text.

Children who are attending after school clubs should attend regularly as we need commitment for the clubs to operate effectively.
