Dear Parents/Carers,
Bristol Schools Swimming Competition
Four of our
children, Milly, Jake, Ruby and Nile have got through the different heats and
will now represent the school at the Bristol Schools Swimming Finals on
Saturday 25th April at Horfield Leisure Centre, started at
1.30pm. Anyone who would like to cheer
them on is welcome. We wish them luck!
Support
for Downs Syndrome Association
Mr Turvey (father of Maddie in Year
3)has been training hard and is running in the London Marathon this Sunday in
aid of The Downs Syndrome Association.
There is still time to donate to this good cause. Please go online to www.virginmoneygiving.com/timturvey
or hand in donations to the office.
Home-made
scones for the Bank Holiday Weekend!
Make your Bank Holiday weekend
special by coming along to the Year 3 classroom and buying some delicious,
mouth-watering scones. They will be on
sale on Thursday and Friday afternoons from 3.15pm. All money will be going to their class
charities, Downs Syndrome Association and St James’ Priory.
After
school sports.
A request from Mrs Gilvear, our
sports coach, that the playground is cleared as soon as possible at the end of
the school day as the after-school clubs will be using the playground for their
sports.
New 20 mph speed limit
As written last week, the new 20mph
speed limit became operative in this area on the 27th March. The
project aims to improve road safety in the city as well as have a beneficial
impact on communities and make cycling, scooting and walking to school a more
attractive option.
End of School Day
A new term and there are still a number of
children collected late from school. The school day ends at 3.30pm and the number of children who
are still in school at 3.40pm is a concern.
If, for an unavoidable reason, you are delayed
in collecting your child, please phone the school office to inform us.
Booking the Extended School Club
We
are only able to accept children who have been booked in advance. Please get a
booking form from the school office.
INSET day
Our
final INSET day this year will be on Friday 19th
June. Please note that the school will
be closed to children on this day.
