Festival of Nature


On Friday, Y4/5J and Y5P will be going to taste a few of the activities on offer at the Festival of Nature, Bristol Harbourside.

This begins a FREE fun filled weekend of events and activities that celebrate nature. You can build animal nest boxes, make paper animals, explore the wildlife garden and look out for bugs, bats and other creatures. Other highlights include free IMAX screenings at the Bristol Aquarium. Find more information online at www.festivalofnature.org

Bristol’s Biggest Bike Ride


Bristol's Biggest Bike Ride takes place on Sunday 12th June and is suitable for all ages and abilities. To find out more details -www.betterbybike.info/bikeride. Also on Sunday 19th June there is a DINOTOUR family cycle treasure hunt on the Bristol to Bath Railway Path. More details next week.

Early Year Practitioner/Nursery Nurse


St Joseph’s Pre-school are seeking to employ an Early Years Practitioner/Nursery Nurse, 32 hours per week from Tuesday to Friday 8.45 am to 4.30 pm plus every other Monday afternoon, commencing September 2011. Current Rate of pay: £7.22 per hour. Level III childcare qualification required and minimum of one years experience in a Pre-school setting preferred. Closing date for applications: 8th July 2011. Pre-School Quiz Night


St Joseph’s Pre-school are holding a QUIZ NIGHT this Saturday, 11th June from 7 pm. You may enter teams of up to 6 people at £2 per person. Also includes Mini Auction Plus other fun and games! Filled rolls plus soft drinks and snacks for sale - BYO alcohol for small corkage donation! Come along and join the fun!

After School Clubs


There are still places available for the following after school clubs

Football Years 3-6- starting on Tuesday 14th June for 6 weeks cost £18
Cookery Years 3-4 - starting on Thursday 16th June for 5 weeks cost £5
Science Year 4 - starting on Tuesday 14th June for 5 weeks - free

Music Tuition


If you would like your child to learn a music instrument in September there are still places available to learn violin, drums and guitar. Further details from Mrs Gossan

Dean Field Residential Trip for Year 5/6


If your child is currently in year 4 or 5 and would like to attend the residential trip in February 2012, please ensure that the deposit of £40 is sent to the school office by Friday 17th June.

School Dinners


If you would like your child to have a school packed lunch, please could you let the office know so that a packed lunch can be reserved for your child.

There will be a celebration assembly on Monday 13th June, at 9.15am, where the following children will receive their headteachers award:
