Year 1 Harvest Assembly and Foodbank

Apologies that today’s assembly was postponed. The Harvest Assembly will now be held on Wednesday 16^th October. This gives everybody more time to donate to Foodbank. Please see the shopping list that the children brought home (and is now on the School Blog) for details. Thanks for your support.

Reception 2014

The Additional Form for Reception 2014 will be available from the office on Monday 30th September. The closing date for applications is January 15th 2014. It is very important that if you apply on-line, you wait for online confirmation of your application. Also, the New Parents’ Tours for children starting in September 2014 are on Wednesday 16^th October at 10am and Tuesday 5th November at 2pm.

We encourage all parents to read the school’s Admissions Policy carefully before applying.

Collecting Children from After School Clubs

Because lots of parents are coming into school to collect their children from clubs, it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage children at the end of these sessions. Mrs Andrews needs to ensure that every child goes home with the right adult but we also need to ensure the school is secure and that unauthorised adults cannot access the site.

We do want to be as welcoming as possible, but we request that parents wait in the lobby area or outside until Mrs Andrews dismisses individual children. If weather conditions become more extreme we will invite parents inside but we ask that parents wait for Mrs Andrews to dismiss the children.

I hope you all appreciate that we are only asking this to ensure the children are safe. Thank you for your cooperation.

Attendance

Well done to the following classes for their good attendance last week:

• Year 1 and Year 5 with 97% attendance and Year 3 with 98% attendance.
• Reception and Year 4 will have special non uniform days on Friday 11^th October as their attendance was an amazing 99%!

Good Attendance and Punctuality Presentation

As you know we have planned a 100% attendance presentation where each class will have a special draw where children can win a £10 voucher. Because punctuality this term has been disappointing, when entering children into the draws, we will be entering all children with 100% attendance and no more than 2 late arrivals to school.

Celebration of Achievements

There will be a celebration assembly on Monday 7th October at 9.10am, where the following children will receive their Headteacher’s award:   Josh Mathew, Amber Waltoni, Joann Thomas, Harry Barton, Catalina Bodnarescu, Ashley James, Javier Graham, Jessica Vadhyanath and Veronica Nampijja.
