Staffing Changes

Mrs Camilla Montgomery has been appointed our new School Business Manager until December when a permanent post holder will be appointed. Mrs Jess Lee's role has been expanded as Finance Assistant, again until December 2014. 

Miss Frances Finding Has been appointed to teach Reception next year, covering Miss Phillips maternity leave. Miss Philips and Miss Finding will be teaching the class together for the first few weeks of term.

Mrs Angela Serle and Mrs Rosa Fernandez have been appointed as Teaching Assistants. Their appointments will help to provide even better teaching of reading and support for children in the key areas of learning.

Year 2 Swimming

A reminder that swimming starts again next Monday.

Team Points

St Matthew were last term’s winners and will now have their non-uniform on Friday 13th June.

Community Fun Day

There will be a  Community Fun Day at Duncombe Lane, Speedwell, on Saturday 21st June 12.00-4.00pm, (entrance free).  There will be lots of activities such as face painting, a fun dog show, stalls, balloon show, play workers, tag rugby, emergency vehicles, Dr Bike, Aikido display, marching band, food, inflatables, and lots more.  Family disco from 4.30pm

A Report on Y5 charity work - The RNLI

Since Christmas, Y5C’s charity has been the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution).  They are heroes who save people’s lives at sea.  So far, since 1824, they have saved over 140,000 lives at sea and counting.  But there is one problem – they don’t have enough lifeboats.

In March, Y5C had a toy sale.  We sold crafted superhero masks, ready made superhero masks, bouncy balls, yoyos, jumpies and toy planes during playtimes.  We raised a whopping £279.71.  John, a representative member of the RNLI came into our class to thanks us for raising the money.

Parish Summer Fair

As interest in a school summer fair has been minimal, the school will instead be supporting the parish summer fair. We are still however asking for volunteers who would like to be involved in supporting this parish event. If you are able to help out, in any way, however small, please let the school office or Mr Condon know. Thanks to the parents who have already offered their support.

Lateness

Can I  remind parents and carers that the school day ends at 3.30pm. We appreciate that occasionally children are collected late due to unforeseen circumstances.  However, it is unacceptable when children are collected late on a regular basis.

Attendance
