A reminder that the school is closed this Monday for a
staff training day.
School Crossing Patrol
We are sad to announce that Mrs
Sheere will be leaving her job as School Crossing Patrol on Friday 23rd
May.
We would like to ask that parents and
carers remind their children that the crossing will be unmanned until the Road
Safety Officer is able to recruit another School Crossing Patrol.
Inter School Sports
Events
It has been a fantastic term for sports, extra-curricular activities and
competitions. Recently some of our footballers have represented the school in
two away matches. This is the first
time in many years that such events have been held and we hope these are the
first of many.
Often we are only be able to include smaller groups
of children, so we try to select children using as fair a selection process as
possible. Generally we will choose children who are involved in Mrs. Gilvear’s
after school clubs or lunchtime inter-class matches. Some places will sometimes
be offered to other groups of children, to maximize participation.
We hope you all appreciate that it can never be an
exact science choosing a team and rest assured we will always do our best to be
fair to all children.

School Uniform
We have a school uniform and it is the wish of the Governors and the school that the pupils wear it. The co-operation of parents is asked for in this matter. In future we will be sending individual letters home if children do not have the correct school uniform.
Team Points
St John’s are last term’s winners and they will
be able to wear non-uniform on Friday 23rd May.
End of Term Cake Sale
and Free Tea, Coffee and cakes (for parents and carers)
We will be having our
second fundraising cake sale next week. These are an easy and popular way of
bringing parents together, raising some funds for the school and buying some
delicious cakes.
We would welcome any
parents who are willing to come in for half an hour to help run the sale. Last
term's sale was a real success so please let the office know if you can help.
We plan on holding our next cake sale on Friday 23rd May at 3.30pm in the
school hall. This is the same day as our free tea/coffee and cake
afternoon at 2.45pm, so parents could come in for a chat and a drink first.
Summer Fair
We would like to ask for volunteers
who would like to be involved in organising this year’s fair.
If you are able to help out, in any way, however small, please let the school
office or Mr Condon know.
Energy Club
There will be no Energy Club on Friday
23rd May. Energy Club will
start back on the 9th June for KS1 and 13th June for KS2
