All
children have been enjoying special sporting events this week for World Down Syndrome Day and Sport Relief.
All children
joined in a sponsored cricket activity this week. A sponsor form was sent home last week with the newsletter. If children have
been sponsored can they please return the form by Friday 28th March?
Thanks for your support.
INDUSTRIAL
ACTION – School Open
The NUT is planning a 1 day strike on Wednesday 26th
March. This will not affect the school which
will be open as usual.
Rags
to Riches
Our school will be hosting a fundraising event in
association with ‘Rags2Riches4Schools’.
‘Rags2Riches4Schools’ is an easy and efficient way to
earn some additional cash that will be added to our school's funds through
recycling old clothes.
From baby wear to teenage hand-me-downs to Grandad's
shoes, all items of clothing and accessories are welcome. Bags, hats, belts,
scarves and gloves all count - pretty much anything wearable. All we ask is for
them to be clean and in good condition and for the shoes to be tied together
(Nobody wants to walk around in odd shoes!). Unfortunately pillows and duvets
are not accepted at this time.
Everyone will be presented with a free ‘Rags2Riches4Schools’
collection bag tomorrow. If a single bag is not
enough, feel free to pop them into any bag you have to hand. Please bring any donations
to school first thing on Monday 28th
April.
Attendance
Well done to the
following classes for their attendance last week.
·
Reception,
Y1, Y2 and Y6 with an amazing 99%!

will have a special non-uniform day on Friday 28th March.
Easter
Competition
We would like as many children as possible to draw
and colour their own A4 picture with an Easter theme. Children can enter as
many times as they like. Each entry will
cost 50p. The money raised will go to CAFOD.
The overall winning picture will be framed and the artist
will receive an Easter egg. There is also a prize of an Easter egg for the best
picture in each year group. The closing
date will be Friday 28th March. Winners will be selected by parents
during our coffee and tea afternoon the following week.

Y2

Y2 will be holding a book sale next Wednesday 26th March, 2.30pm onwards, selling books for 20p each. Proceeds will go to the Bristol Heart Foundation. Lots of great second-hand books will be on sale.
School
Dinner Money
Please
can I remind parents that if you wish your child to have a school dinner, this
must be paid for in advance by sending in cash or a cheque made
payable to Bristol City Council in a clearly marked envelope.
If
a parent believes that their child may qualify for entitlement to Free School
Meals, the school office should be contacted for further details.
It
is a requirement of the school’s Dinner Money Policy that all payments are up
to date and no debts are outstanding. If debts are incurred, then the
school budget has to pay for them. This means that money which should be
spent on your child’s education is used to pay for debts incurred by
parents. Every parent will agree that this is unacceptable. Thank you for
your co-operation.
Cake Sales
We will be starting our fundraising cake sales this
term. Previously these have been an easy and popular way of bringing parents
together, raising some funds for the school and buying some delicious cakes.
All the school needs is parents who are willing to
come in for half an hour once a term to help run the sale, and I am pleased to
say that one parent has volunteered to help but it would be lovely to have a
few more parents come forward to make this event a real success. We plan on
holding a cake sale on Thursday 3rd April at 3.30pm in the school hall. This is
the same day as our tea/coffee afternoon at 2.45pm, so parents could come in
for a chat and a drink first.
