Wednesday 3 September 2014

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back to the start of the new school year and I hope you all had a good summer break. A full newsletter will follow later in the week.
After School Clubs 2014-15

All clubs will be ongoing until further notice and most will be at no cost. The only cost will be if parents wish their child to also be cared for in the Extended School Club (see below) and a one-off payment of £5 for materials for Textiles Club.

Places are limited and offered on a first come-first served basis.

Unfortunately we are unable offer clubs to children in Reception at the moment.

Next week we are introducing a new club:

  • Mrs Gilvear will be running new Indoor Games Club on Tuesdays. In the club children will be enjoying games such as table football, table flick football and table hockey.
Please contact the school office to see if any places are available. All clubs will start next week and will take place every week unless parents are otherwise notified in the newsletter or by text.

After School Clubs and our Extended School Club

Last year we had requests for children to be supervised between school clubs (i.e. When a club finishes earlier than another). To help parents we can offer a place at the extended school club for these short periods at a cost of £1.50. Like the usual Extended School Club all places must be booked in advance using the form available in the school office.

Attendance for After School Clubs

Also last year we had a number of children who were are attending after school clubs on a sporadic basis. For these opportunities to be effective we do need commitment from children. If children are regularly missing sessions their parents may be contacted to discuss ending their participation.

I look forward to seeing all the children enjoying the clubs.

Yours sincerely,

Matt Condon
Headteacher
